Scripture
“Be faithful in little things.”
— cf. Gospel of Luke 16:10
Reflection: We naturally notice dramatic moments: crises, important decisions, victories and failures. Jesus repeatedly directs attention somewhere quieter—toward faithfulness in things that appear small.
Character is usually formed there. Keeping a promise when nobody checks. Doing ordinary work carefully. Giving someone our full attention. Refusing a convenient half-truth. Praying when there is no emotional reward. Showing kindness to someone who cannot repay it.
We may want a great opportunity to demonstrate courage or faith, while overlooking the ordinary opportunities already before us.
Choose one small responsibility today that you might normally hurry through or postpone. Do it deliberately and well. It may never be noticed by anyone else. Faithfulness does not require an audience.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, have mercy on those suffering through war, disaster and uncertainty today. Protect Romania and its neighbors, give wisdom to those entrusted with authority, and strengthen those who work for peace and justice. Teach me to be faithful not only in important moments but in ordinary ones. Give me integrity when nobody is watching, patience in small duties, generosity in simple opportunities, and gratitude for the work You have placed before me today. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
