Christ is Risen!

This is the exclamation of hope and peace that marked God’s victory over sin and death, over two thousand years ago! For all these years, until today, through many historical eras, through times of peace, and times of war, through pandemics, and economic crises, through times of prosperity and times of adversity, the message that Christ is risen has been a constant reminder of God’s unchanging sovereignty and love, and also a wake-up call for a world perishing in sin and in dire need of a Savior.

We are bringing you this message once again, this year, during very difficult and troubling times for the modern world. After dealing with a deadly world-wide pandemic, now we are confronted with war at home, in the area of our mission field. Right after we thought the troubles with the pandemic were over, and life could go back to normal, troubles began anew. Over the past few months, we have seen and heard unbelievable evil things, overtly demonic acts. Thousands of people have been killed, hundreds of thousand have been displaced, fleeing the war. Many lives have been violently impacted by wounds that may never heal. Many families have been destroyed, churches burned down, entire towns obliterated – suffering, desperation, weeping, hopelessness, plain evil.

In the midst of this tragedy, we proclaim that Christ is risen!

This is the most amazing news in a world terrorized by death, the freshest breath of air, in a world suffocated by evil. Despite our sin, God is present in the world and has done the unthinkable, sending his only Son to die, so His glory could be revealed!

Christ himself said I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.

As we hand out a bag of food to a Ukrainian mom who needs to feed her kids, or as we hold the hand of a tearful refugee who has just made it over the border and is happy but fearful, we share this proclamation that Christ is risen!

As we visit the widows in Romania and bring them a load of fire-wood to warm up their room, and as we sing songs around a camp fire with a bunch of orphan kids, and as we visit the sick in the hospital and the inmates in prisons, we proclaim this message that pierces though the thick darkness of a world overwhelmed by sin, and allows the bright ray of the hope of the Gospel to touch the hearts of people and to bring LIFE!

Christ is risen!
