VICTORY in Indiana!
In the case we just argued last week at the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Court has just issued a temporary order BLOCKING the lower court’s decision that this Nativity is “unconstitutional,” and ALLOWING Jackson County to put up this same display next week after Thanksgiving!!!
This is not a final decision. It is only a temporary one, which recognizes that it may take the Court several months to write up the final decision, but the County should not have to interrupt its traditions this Christmas while it waits for the appeal. Importantly, the Court didn’t have to provide this temporary relief, and it is exceedingly hard to get. The fact that it stepped in like this bodes very well for our ultimate chances of success.
Keep praying for the final outcome, and in the meantime praise God for this change in course and for the rebuke of the ACLU Scrooge. It will be a Merry Christmas in Jackson County, Indiana! God is good.
