One of the realities of the Christian church in the digital world is the fact that more and more churches stream live all of their services in their entirety. I have been pondering this reality for a while now. I love technology. I try to learn how to use it and how to make it useful for the Kingdom of God, but for some reason these cameras that I see in more and more churches make me uncomfortable. I wonder how useful they really are. I wonder what the long term side effect of these cameras are for the church body. Perhaps there will be positive effects, and the church will be transformed as it happened with many technological advances throughout the ages. Below are some of the positive and the negative aspects of using live or recorded video streaming in our churches.
