An article said his average is 800 per year, so 2-3 times per day checks out. He’s a vet with his own hookup though, so he might do as many as 10-20 on some days and then take a few off.

Skydiving is physically really not particularly strenuous. Lots of adrenaline and focus and so forth, but honestly the most physically strenuous part is when you land off-field and have to walk back to the road. 😛 There’s guys who ski all day, that’s way more strenuous.
And if you’re at a skydiving center the plane’s going up regardless.

Skydiver here. We don’t go to the dropzone to do one or two jumps. Typically, we’ll do anywhere from 6-12 jumps in a day (~$25/jump at most places in the US), depending on weather and how hard we want to charge.
It takes about 15 mins to get to jump altitude, and about 5 mins to get down to the ground (including the freefall and the parachute ride). Once, we’re down, it takes around 10-15 mins to pack. Dropzones usually operate from ~8-10 am to sunset (~8-9 pm in the middle of summer).
Most skydivers, myself included, have day jobs unrelated to skydiving. We’re at the dropzone every weekend during summer. It’s what we’re passionate about, so it’s what we do.
Luke’s family owns a large dropzone, so skydiving is both a passion and his day job. That’s how he has over 18k jumps.
