Dincolo de lumea reală, în care suntem forțați să trăim, există lumi ale fanteziei noastre, în acre ne petrecem mare parte din existență. Ele sunt “distracțiile noastre“, în care trăim prin “reprezentanții noștri“, eroi, actori, sportivi, aventurieri, politicieni, etc. Trăim, cum spun americanii, vicarous prin ei.

Noi toți avem nevoie de modele, dar nu trebuie să le dăm voie să ne fure viața, să ne paralizeze propriile acțiuni, să ne blocheze responsabilitatea și realizările proprii. Dorința de a fi “ca ei“ nu trebuie să ne facă să trăim “prin ei“, ca femeile îndrăgostite de îndrăgostirile serialelor siropoase. Trebuie să știm când să ne retragem din lumea fanteziilor noastre în lumea reală de fiecare zi în care trebuie să înfăptuim noi, ci propriile noastre puteri ceea ce destinul divin ne-a pregătit fiecăruia.
Într-un articol despre fenomenul Tim Tebow (aici), care este un creștin cu care se identifică o mulțime de creștini din America, două comentarii mi-au atras în mod deosebit atenția. Ele spun într-o engleză care nu-mi stă la îndemână ceea ce am gândit și eu românește de câtăva vreme:

Sports is blown waaaay out of proportion, it’s only entertainment…..
Anyone walking around wearing a shirt with another man’s name on it, needs to get checked for Identity Vacuum Disorder. Frothing at the mouth , putting make-up and costumes on, investing deep emotions on the outcome of events which become the answers to trivia questions within a few years. All of this with no stake in the outcome of the trivial events, other than an imaginary one.
Athletes and sports teams represent THEMSELVES as business people and entities. The Jets no more represent the citizens of New York any more than Blackwater mercenaries represent the citizens of this country.
Even all the distraction provided by the actual physical contests does not quench the thirst for entertainment. Indeed, for those who have a bottomless pit inside there are even fantasy leagues with “fantasy studs…” fantasy studs…? Really…? LoLzZz

Terry Poupart At least in Sports there is actual competition and the winners are not hand-picked and the emotions and not manufactured as they are in ‘reality’ TV. Since you seem so anti-entertainment Mr. rjvjvidf, I am sure that you would agree that it’s better to have athlete’s espousing Christian values than movie stars who have no moral values and no experience with reality telling the rest of US how to vote.
