Explains ongoing campaign for impeachment investigation

Democrats were enraged when Donald Trump won in 2016. How could their candidate, Hillary Clinton, have failed again?

Since then, many in the party simply have refused to accept the outcome.

Their work has been focused on removing from the Oval Office a man they consider an interloper.

They tried for at least two years to prove that the 2016 Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

A special counsel found no evidence

They tried a charge of obstruction.

No charges were referred.

They tried corruption.

Nothing.

Now, they are focused on allegations that Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate the business dealings of former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden.

Talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday that’s happening because Democrats “know they can’t beat Trump” in the 2020 election.

Hunter Biden was getting paid $50,000 a month to be on the board of a Ukrainian company, which was under investigation. Joe Biden is on video acknowledging he demanded that the prosecutor in the case be fired or he would withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees.

Trump tweeted Tuesday there was no pressure, not “quid pro quo” in his July phone conversation with the Ukrainian president.

“And yet you turn on the Drive-By Media and everybody reporting on it acts like we know exactly what happened. That Trump bribed them. That Trump intimidated them. That Trump told them that we’re gonna withhold American military aid until they investigated Biden’s son,” Limbaugh said.

All based on “anonymous leaks.”

He said it’s “exactly like the Russia situation.”

“In fact, I’ll tell you what they’re doing. There’s a strategy here,” he said. “You start the investigation, just like they did with Russia, before you know anything, just get the investigation going. Then you get to establish the narrative, then you get to establish the parameters of the thing. And there’s never any information. There’s no intel! There’s nothing here that anybody knows yet! The investigation’s underway. It’s gotten so far down the road we gotta talk about impeachment now. It’s the same thing they did with this Russian thing, ran this silent coup. There was never any evidence. Remember? And there isn’t any evidence here yet. Yet the Washington Post is out publishing a story like The Politico, that the facts are now clear, that Trump interfered, overused his power, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.”

Limbaugh said Trump was consistent with past policy in his desire to pressure other nations to contribute to aid to Ukraine.

“Trump hasn’t done anything impeachable, but that doesn’t matter. They’ve already got it in the media that he’s done something that’s horrible, it’s even worse than Trump-Russia collusion, except there wasn’t any.”

The bottom line?

“And you notice with these people, everything Trump does is impeachable. Everything. Because they know they haven’t got a chance. It’s a slim chance of beating him in 2020.”
