Romanian weddingIn spite of intense pressure, one European nation is providing an example to the rest of the world on how to deal with the issue of unnatural marriage.

Liberty Counsel attorney Harry Mihet tells OneNewsNow that more than a dozen countries in Europe have legalized unnatural marriage or are moving in that direction, but Romanians are standing on higher moral ground.

Mihet, Harry (Liberty Counsel)“More than three million citizens in a country of less than 20 million signed a petition to bring before the voters of the entire country a constitutional amendment affirming in the Constitution the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman,” Mihet reports.

It was the largest referendum effort in the country’s history. Surrounding liberal nations joined with organizations like Amnesty International and the ILGA-Europe, a pro-homosexual group, to put a huge amount of pressure on Romania to approve unnatural marriage, but they failed.

“This effort was a rebuke of the homosexual agenda and a rebuke of the George Soroses of the world and instead was a reaffirmation that the Romanian people have both the capacity and the ability to think for themselves and to decide the meaning of marriage for themselves,” the attorney asserts.

The Constitutional Court of Romania has approved the referendum, giving citizens the chance to vote on it at a future date.
