But this story of thousands of bikers who decided that enough was enough and did something about it will change that notion.

The event, known as “Two Million Bikers to D.C.,” was organized in show of support for Sept. 11 victims and in solidarity against a “million Muslims” rally.

Though the events depicted in the video below occurred in Sept., 2013, they remain just as relevant and patriotic today as on the day they happened.

The number of riders was an awe-inspiring display, despite falling short of two million. The motorcycles stretched an impressive third of a mile from the Harley-Davidson Washington store.

The video shows the inspiring sight of the two-wheeled freedom lovers riding proudly through the nation’s capital.

Although the National Park Service granted a permit to a Muslim group planning a rally at the same time to call attention to “social justice issues” on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, authorities denied a permit to the riders that would have offered them a police escort through traffic.

Organizers for the ride believe the denial was due to political reasons (H/T Fellowship of the Minds).

“We are going to have a peaceful ride … But there are people who are sick and tired of their rights and liberties being taken away,” said national ride coordinator Belinda Bee.

The National Park Service denied any political motivation for refusing the permit to the bikers.

The American Muslim Political Action Committee scheduled their rally to draw attention to what they call unfair fear of Muslims after the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

We gladly support the efforts of patriots like these bikers who love America and want to show their pride to every one. Even though this event took place two years ago, the bikers’ patriotism deserves to be applauded. Well done!
