Sunt foarte puține lucrurile în care sunt de acord cu Noam. Am chiar alergie la ideile lui. Totuși, informațiile din acest material sunt binevenite.
Video – Noam Chomsky offers his opinion of the education system, how it establishes a system for the selection of obedient individuals for more important roles in society, and how it encourages conformity and discourages independent thought, which in turn stifles societal progress. Chomsky is the recipient of the Sydney Peace Prize, for his “unfailing courage, critical analysis of power and promotion of human rights” and holds many other awards and distinctions.

Hello,
I happen to think the “communist” schools were described in (I believe) the exact same way: “indoctrinating”, “intending to perpetuate obedience (and the system)” etc. However, the “democratic” school (for the masses) and the “communist” school (automatically for the masses) are just about as different as one might have at the same time on this planet.
I would agree that both did not encourage “creativity”, but time constraints is a major factor (in both cases). This factor should not be ignored, and I can’t tell why it is not mentioned. (On the other hand, should time constraints be largely ignored, what would the results be ?) Aside from that, the “democratic” school (again, *for the masses*) also distinguishes itself through its (for the most part) lack of (scientific) content. Without content (i.e., “on the dry”), one cannot be very creative, I think …
And if that “lack of content” assessment is correct, how grave is that ?
Thanks.
