Weather Channel Founder Insists Climate Change Is Not Happening
“There’s a whole lot of baloney…”
The Weather Channel’s founder, John Coleman, appeared on Sunday’s Reliable Sources on CNN, where he came out swinging against host Brian Stelter with his stance that “climate change is not happening.” Stelter was barely able to offer a greeting to his guest when Coleman immediately launched into his rant against CNN as a promoter of
climate change.
I resent you calling me a denier, that is a word meant to put me down. I’m a skeptic about climate change. And I want to make it darn clear Mr. Kenny is not a scientist, I am. He is the CEO of The Weather Channel now, I was the founder of The Weather Channel, not the co-founder.
Stelter attempted to let Coleman know that he is a fan of TWC, but Coleman demanded that he be allowed to continue:
CNN has taken a very strong position on global warming that it is a consensus. Well, there is no consensus in science. Science isn’t a vote. Science is about facts. And if you get down to the hard, cold facts, there’s not question about it. Climate change is not happening, there is no significant, man-made global warming now, there hasn’t been any in the past, and there’s no reason to expect any in the future. There’s a whole lot of baloney. And yes, it has become a big political point of the Democratic Party and part of their platform and I regret it has become political instead of scientific, but the science is on my side.
Coleman went on to explain that many scientists have supported global warming because the government funds their research–so their opinions are skewed by money:
But that doesn’t mean it’s right. That doesn’t make it true. That only makes it bought and paid for. The money goes in circles.
The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said on Sunday that climate change is entirely man’s fault and that the continued burning of fossil fuels will result in irreversible impacts on people and the environment. The panel insists that additional global warming could lead to food shortages, flooding of major cities, and mass extinctions.
Does mankind’s activities affect the overall climate of a planet that is billions of years old and has experienced numerous ice ages and warming trends?
