O dispută transatlantică

Denmark is a bedroom/retirement community with hardly any enterprise. The US economy takes a lot of risk in social and economic innovation. Our taxes subsidize that. Denmark enjoys the fruit of innovation and risks taken by other societies. The American dream is not about living the life you described but taking the risk to create it. America is the incubator for human potential and, for a price, one can achieve anything. That is why practically every enterprising soul in the world wants to

come to America….and retiring souls prefer Denmark. The human soul derives greater satisfaction in the process of success than in the enjoyment of the finished product. Denmark is not the incubator for human potential, it is the resting place for human potential. Rest in peace.

The US has also subsidized and assumed most of the military defense of Denmark, Danish allies, and Danish interests since WWII. Let the US pull out of Europe and then see how wonderful life is under Fascist or Communist rule in another 50-70 years.

Denmark may give people 6 weeks vacation but America saved their ass in World War 2, put a man on the moon, created air travel, cured polio, won twice as many Nobel Prizes as the next country on the list, built the personal computer, established the internet, mapped the human genome and is always the first country to step in and help when there’s a natural disaster anywhere on the earth. Enjoy your vacation, Denmark. America is betting getting shit done. What has Denmark ever given the world? Lego?

You fail to put into account that there are only 5,627,235 Danes according to Wikipedia compared to 317 million Americans and some estimated 40 million illegals …

I was an exchange student in Denmark, and I still keep close ties with my family and friends in Denmark……this picture of life in Denmark is very one sided…..the socialized medicine isn’t very good; most people have private insurance because of the problems with the health care…….living in Denmark is RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE……Taxes are outrageous…..I can’t imagine living well on $61,000; there is no mention of spendable income, after taxes are deducted. Danes are wonderful people, and Denmark is a great place to visit….I doubt that I would want to live there….I couldn’t afford it.

  1. Roger Hetel and John Tuffield have comments that when combined reveal the absurdity of Denmark’s system if applied to the United States which has about 50% (Romney’s 47%) of people who do not pay ANY taxes at all. That is not the case in Denmark. It will be fun to see Denmark open up its borders to illegals like the United States and every year pay them free money to the tune of BILLIONS of dollars (admitted by the IRS, says its not their problem to police the abuse) for fake dependents.

The US pays MORE than Denmark in benefits to non-workers and even illegals. The reason why we can’t have LONGER vacations in the US is we need to work to support several others who sit at home watching TV in their govnerment paid apartment, so we need to work very hard so we can pay their free meals also and pay their bills for them.

Yes that’s right, in the USA, even illegal aliens can get TAX REBATES even if they did not pay a penny of taxes to the government themselves. Many of these people are abusing the system, they would not ‘die’ if they did not cheat the system. There’s many receiving up to $1800 or so in free money for “Housing” while they work for cash, under the table or sell drugs and rent out rooms from the house/apartment they’re paying with Free Government money. When will people wake up? How long can the ‘dying’ middle-class be enslaved to carry the cross for millions and millions of freeloaders? Sooner or later everyone will just quit and then lets see the Government write free money/checks to 100% of the people for sitting at home, instead of just to 47/50% of them? Maybe all the taxpayers should all agree to just STOP paying taxes all at once until these things are solved? Maybe “TaxPayers” should have a UNION and ‘RIGHTS’ to protect themselves from the non-paying Freeloaders who are enslaving the middle class to work on their behalf. How about some better working conditions, like keeping more of your HARD-earned money for yourself or having the option to CHOOSE to who to give it to instead of letting the government subsidize laziness and drug abuse. The US is more communist than China, the US Government budget gets most 50-65% of its funds from Taxes while china has a MUCH lower tax-rate, even Russia has a 13% flat tax. The US is the leading Socialist country.

So let’s see Denmark open up their borders to illegals and start paying out all those social benefits if only 50% of their people paid any taxes. They’d turn into a 3rd world country if that happens under their current social practices.
