English, obviously, is the most popular language in every state. But what’s the second most popular? And the third?
Slate came up with some maps that show us. Take a look at this:
Spanish is the 2nd-most popular language in 43 states – or 50 if you’re the President – and 7 others have either French, German, Yupik, or Tagalog.
Okay, what’s next:
Now we’ve run into some diversity, that’s for sure. Nationwide, the U.S. Census reports that over 300 different languages are spoken. Time to brush up with some Rosetta Stone?
