Leonard Cohen: ‘Dance Me to the End Of Love’ … it’s curious how songs begin because the origin of the song, every song, has a kind of grain or seed that somebody hands you or the world hands you and that’s why the process is so mysterious about writing a song. But that came from just hearing or reading or knowing that in the death camps, beside the crematoria, in certain of the death camps, a string quartet was pressed into performance while this horror was going on, those were the people whose fate was this horror also. And they would be playing classical music while their fellow prisoners were being killed and burnt. So, that music, “Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin,” meaning the beauty there of being the consummation of life, the end of this existence and of the passionate element in that consummation. But, it is the same language that we use for surrender to the beloved, so that the song — it’s not important that anybody knows the genesis of it, because if the language comes from that passionate resource, it will be able to embrace all passionate activity.

Rautacioase cuvinte dle Teodorescu ! Aveti grija , multi antisemiti au crezut ca sunt buni crestini. Si Hitler credea, in felul lui. Vorbiti cu multa patima de evrei… Sunteti sigur ca sunteti pe o cale buna ? Ia mai cercetati-va inaintea lui Dumnezeu…Cine stie ce resentimente si lastari vechi de neiertare veti descoperi. E mai bine sa -i smulgeti acum. Mai tarziu ce veti face daca Domnul va va spune : “Nu te cunosc ! ” Daca El ne porunceste sa ne iubim si dusmanii, dvs de ce ii urati pe evrei ? Ce rau v-au facut evreii dvs ?
Dupa ce si-a batut joc de Dumnezeu cu a sa binecunoscuta compozitite (“Halellu-jah” – care este de fapt Hallel-Lucifer…), n-o sa ascult nici o secunda si alte “capopere” ale acestui individ ateu. Mai trist este faptul ca evanghelicii s-au grabit sa stearga rusinea luarii in desert a Numelui Domnului in cazul acestui cantec, inventand un “text crestin” care sa-l inlocuiasca pe cel original. Ca deh, nemaiexistand compozitori crestini pe lumea asta, “suntem nevoiti” sa modificam acum texte hulitoare, blasfemitoare, ca ale lui Cohen si mai stiu ce alte “nume celebre” din lumea asta pacatoasa… Faptul ca L.Cohen este evreu nici nu ma mira. Si Anticrist va fi probabil tot un evreu la origine, pentru ca altfel, nici nu l-ar putea accepta evreii ca fiind “Mesia venit de la Dumnezeu”.
