Barzilai En Dan created a fundraiser for Romanian Missionary Society

For my birthday this year, I’m asking for donations to Romanian Missionary Society. I’ve chosen this nonprofit because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope you’ll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. I’ve included information about Romanian Missionary Society below.

In 1968, a group of 25 Romanian and American church leaders, founded the Romanian Missionary Society, to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of the Romanian Christians trapped behind the Iron Curtain in the Communist world. In those early days the focus of the ministry was on Christian radio broadcasting (through HCJB), and on relief assistance.

In 1982, Communist persecution against Christian believers was rampant in Romania. Understanding the need for Christian leaders in Romania, the RMS received a new vision for training young men and women for the ministry. To achieve this, we initiated an ambitious program of publishing Christian books and training materials in the Romanian language, to provide all the tools necessary for theological training.

At the same time, the radio ministry took a new turn by broadcasting an evangelical Christian program over BBC and Radio Free Europe, reaching a very wide audience.

When Communism fell in Romania, during the bloody days of December 1989, a new era, and new and exciting opportunities opened for the RMS. Since 1989, the Romanian Missionary Society was instrumental in establishing and supporting the following: Romanian National Alliance of Evangelicals – giving a strong and united voice to all evangelical believers in Romania“Emanuel” Bible Institute in Oradea (now, “Emanuel” University) – one of the very few Christian Universities in Eastern EuropeRadio “Voice of the Gospel” network, in partnership with HCJB – a permanent presence in all major Romanian cities and most of the rural areas, and since 2005 a presence throughout the world by satellite and the internet.

“Cartea crestina“ Christian Publisher – bringing to the Romanian people hundreds of Christian authors from around the world.

RMS also initiated and supports a number of programs that continue to help local churches and believers in Romania, such as:

Sponsor-a-Pastor, to aid pastors in small rural churches and new church plants,

Adopt-a-Student, assisting Seminary students in both Romania and Moldova,

YouthNetwork, a resource website for youth workers in Romanian churches,

Orphan assistance, through Bible clubs and summer camps.

School of Apologetics, conference and seminars program held in the major university centers of Romania and Moldova and designed to help people understand what they believe and why they believe it.

We are continuously and prayerfully moving in the direction of broadening the scope of our ministries, to reach the widest possible audience outside the church.

The editorial plan, the spiritual life conferences, the radio and TV broadcasts, the apologetics seminars – all are geared toward equipping the young generation for the ministry of the Gospel by presenting the message in a way that is relevant for our generation. From its inception, RMS tailored its missionary strategy to effectively carry out the Great Commission. As societal and political trends shift, we continue to build upon our many years of ministry experience in Romania, with the all-consuming goal of helping to advance the kingdom of God.

Facebook pays all the processing fees for you, so 100% of your donation goes directly to the nonprofit.
